Diamagnetism, discovered by Michael Faraday back in 1845, unexpectedly came to the rescue. Studying the behavior of substances in a magnetic field, the scientist discovered that some are attracted to a magnet, while others are repelled. Substances that were attracted and acquired residual magnetization were called by him ferromagnets. Substances such as gold, silver, copper, zinc, lead, oxygen, water are repelled by a magnet - these are diamagnets. Most organic compounds are also diamagnetic.

The diamagnetic properties of gold are very weak, they can be observed only on particles with a small mass. But nanoparticles just have a very small mass! We decided to check if the nanoparticles would penetrate the skin under the action of a permanent magnet? Permanent magnets themselves have been used in medicine for a very long time.
