In many ways I can be considered completely ordinary. I have an ordinary face, ordinary hair, and my figure, despite some thinness, is also quite ordinary. My life turned out differently than most girls, only thanks to a happy coincidence of circumstances.

My own image began to take shape at drama school, where we were told every day how important it was to take care of your appearance. Nails, hair, makeup - all this must be in perfect order if you really want to become an actress. I wasn't one of the Spice Girls then. I was just Victoria Adams. I became a “chic peppercorn” precisely because of my appearance - short hair, high heels, little black dress from Gucci. The only exception was that the dress was not from Gucci, but from Miss Selfridge. I wore it so often that it eventually fell apart at the seams. But I still wear some things I bought back then. For example, a dress from Dolce&Gabbana is narrow, elegantly striped, with a sewn-in corset. This was my first dress with a corset. Buy wisely - and things will serve you for a long time. There is nothing more expensive than disposable outfits. With the exception of planned photo shoots, for which all outfits are selected in advance, I never use the services of a stylist. Why on earth should I give up all the most interesting things to a stranger? I decide for myself what to wear. It's been this way since I was 14 years old.

I started doing makeup at a fairly early age. At first it was a period of pure experimentation. I remember my first lipstick was called Twilight Teaser from Boots No. 17. She was - just don’t be surprised! - rainbow-purple hue (after all, this experience took place in the 80s). In fact, I have never been able to resist rainbows and iridescents. As a child, I collected glitter and perfume bottles - that is, something colorful and excitingly feminine. To be honest, I haven't changed much since then.

About jeans

While I really enjoy dressing up, I understand that casual clothing needs to be practical. There is a real danger in my life that a child might vomit on my clothes, which is why I spend most of the day in jeans and T-shirts. Jeans flatter your figure, and at the same time, if necessary, they can be quickly thrown into the washing machine. Well, T-shirts, as any mother knows, are ideal for wiping children's noses. The perfect pair of jeans is not only comfortable - it makes you look sexier and more attractive. As a rule, these are blue models, slightly wider at the bottom. If you dread the thought of having to fit into a size 14 jeans, don't squeeze into a size 12. Better buy your size and then cut off the tag. Life is hard enough as it is, so why make it even more difficult?

About moderation

A good date dress should give you a touch of sexiness (just a touch!). In addition, it should highlight your figure and be comfortable so that you can feel completely at ease in it. I remember going on one of my first dates with David wearing a brown suede Oasis dress with a round collar and a belt around the waist. I chose this dress because it fit well, was comfortable, and met one of my clothing criteria - full upper torso coverage and leg showing. David later told me more than once how much he liked this dress.

About planning strategy

The sad truth is that anyone who wants to look natural and at the same time attractive must think through all the details of their toilet in advance. This is the only way he can achieve ease of dress. But this does not mean that you should devote all your free time to thinking about clothes, because many of us already have enough to do. Since I became a mother, I no longer spend the whole morning putting together an ensemble - I simply don’t have time for it. Now I try to do several things at the same time, such as taking a bath and planning my outfit for tomorrow.

Think in advance about what kind of handbag will go with your dress, what hairstyle will look best here, etc. As a result, you will know from the very beginning what your final look will be. Gordon Ramsay told me that he uses the same tactics when cooking. First, he presents the dish as a whole, and then proceeds to selecting the ingredients. The most interesting thing is that David also follows this tactic in the game. It is therefore possible that it can be applied to all areas of our lives.

About dreams that come true

I myself have always been obsessed with accessories. Once, when I was still a child, my mother’s friend, who bought a pair of Gucci shoes, gave me a branded bag. I adored this bag and carried my textbooks in it until the bottom completely burst. We are now talking about how you can individualize your appearance with the help of accessories, and I believe that the very fact of carrying textbooks not in a school bag, but in a branded bag, perfectly characterizes my nature. Moreover, this example clearly demonstrates that some style claims can be satisfied in a very inexpensive way (as you can imagine, I did not have much cash in those days). I bet you won't be surprised if I say that my first designer bag was a Gucci handbag.

About the obsession with shoes

There is nothing more pleasant for me than looking at my feet from time to time and seeing something amazing there. Even if you wear a business suit to work, there's nothing stopping you from spicing up your routine with a pair of truly stylish shoes. Then, sitting at some boring meeting, you can secretly admire your wonderful shoes, repeating to yourself that you are still far from a soulless working machine.

I am a strong proponent of high heels. I know that some women can look great in flat shoes. For example, Elle Macpherson looks simply gorgeous in it. However, do not forget that Elle Macpherson is a luxurious woman, one meter eighty tall, so it is quite permissible for her to walk without heels. As for classic flat pumps, I have never been delighted with them. Many women look great in them, but I feel like a duckling waddling along the shore of a pond.

If you can afford to spend a little more, then along with Manolo, I recommend Christian Louboutin, who creates the world's sexiest high heels. I also really like the fact that the soles of his shoes are always painted red, so that when he walks there are always flashes of scarlet.

When going to a party, I always ask my mother and sister Louise what they think of my outfit. You should not neglect the opinion of your loved ones, because strangers are of little use in this regard. “Oh,” they say, “everything is just great!” Although in reality you look worse than ever. Only your mother and sister will be completely honest with you and will never allow you to go out of the house wearing something that will make you not beautiful, but funny.

Of all my evening dresses, my favorite was and remains a dress from Roberto Cavalli - with a pattern similar to a painting from the Ming era. I wore it to one of Elton's parties a few years ago. David chose this dress for me, and I must say that I have never worn anything like it before.

I really wanted this dress to give me an hourglass shape, so during the preparation process I asked the dressmakers to make it as tight as possible, to which they responded to me in their Italian accent: “If we make it any tighter, you just won’t be able to sit down.” !" “Fine,” I replied. “If necessary, I will go to this party standing up, in a horse cage! But the dress should be even tighter.”

I think you have already understood that evening dresses are exactly that part of my life where common sense completely fails me. Be that as it may, at a party I needed to go to the toilet, and I asked David to accompany me: “When I leave, I will need to button up my dress.” And so I come out of the toilet, David begins to button up his dress - and then suddenly the zipper breaks! And all because the dress, at my insistence, was made tight! I stand there half dressed and frantically think: “What should I do now? Through constant practice, I learned how to stuff baby scarves, a diaper, a credit card, and, with luck, lipstick into a tiny Fendi handbag (it's all about the folding technique, when things are stacked one on top of the other and then wrapped in a diaper). I stuff other women's trinkets into David's pockets as if he were a secret agent. And now we are ready to go!

Even if I'm pregnant, that doesn't mean I want to look like Demis Roussos. Of course, it’s not so easy to take care of your appearance when you feel like such an immense carcass, but this is precisely why companies should take care of producing cute and comfortable clothes that can restore women’s good spirits. In this regard, there is nothing worse than those immense dresses in which the expectant mother becomes like a living mountain. Maternity jeans can also puzzle anyone. In front they usually have an insert made of elastic fabric, but on the sides there is not a millimeter of free space for your expanding hips. In addition, the elastic fabric on your stomach catches the eye of everyone around you, and this, of course, does not add to your attractiveness. During pregnancy, I customize my jeans myself: I take a regular pair, cut out V-shaped holes on the sides, and then sew elastic fabric in there. This makes me feel very comfortable while remaining stylish and attractive at the same time.

I actually continue to wear stilettos even when I'm pregnant. Of course, I in no way advise others to follow my example. Most women do exactly the right thing by changing their usual shoes to flats. This primarily applies to those who experience back pain during pregnancy. I remember when I was wearing Romeo, my mom and I took Brooklyn to Legoland. All this happened in the heat of the day, in mid-August. Just imagine what it was like for me to hobble there in my heels! But I’m ready to put up with such inconveniences, because I don’t want pregnancy to make me a completely different woman.

About underwear

Several years ago, in an interview, I said that there is no need to choose a bra to match your panties. All this caused such an incredible noise in the press, as if I had declared that the Earth was flat. Even now I am not going to give up these words. Believe me, I already have enough to do to still wonder whether my panties match my bra or not. Make sure that your skirt is not too short, otherwise every time you bend over or get out of the car, others will have the opportunity to admire your panties. By the way, make sure you are wearing panties! I understand that for many this goes without saying, but I have more than once seen women who frivolously disregarded such a rule.

About individual style

I dress for myself first, then for David, and then for my girlfriends. It is the understanding that my loved ones like my appearance that gives me a level of confidence that I have never experienced before. If you feel particularly comfortable in an outfit or someone close to you compliments you on that item, you will always associate it with that moment. That's why clothes can be likened to a diary that marks the milestones of your life. For me, at least, it is, which is why I still keep all my outfits: the little Miss Selfridge dress I wore during the Spice Girls era, and the brown suede dress I wore on one of my first dates with David, and the Cavalli dress she wore to Elton John's ball.
